The 2010 Golbal IIT Alumni Conference was held in Greater Noida near
New Delhi. The theme was "Imperatives of an emerging New India. Speakers and
delegates deliberated on the various facets of managing growth and
transformation while ensuring sustainable and equitable use of available
human and natural resources in India.
From October 9th 2009, IIT Alumni from all over the world met at the Schaumberg Convention Center. The theme was Innovation and Entrepreneurship in the Global Economy. Eminent speakers including President Bill Clinton, James Owens (Chairman & CEO Caterpillar Inc.), Nathan Myhrvold (Founder Microsoft Reasearch), Aneesh Chopra (CTO US Govt.) and Carl Schramm (President & CEO Kaufmann Foundation) spoke about challenges and opportunities in the critical areas of education, energy & climate change, public health and digital infrastructure.
The global IIT Alumni Conference held on the campus of IIT Madras, featured luminaries including Bob McDonald, COO of Procter & Gamble, Managing Directors of three top Tata Companies: Tata Steel, Tata Motors, and Tata Consultancy Services and over 150 renowned speakers, The event was inaugurated by Dr. Manmohan Singh, India's Prime Minister, via a live satellite link from New Delhi.
