San Francisco, Muir Woods & Sausalito
Expand your San Francisco tour with a trip across the Golden Gate bridge to the cute little boutique town of Sausalito with its Artist’s Studios and stunning views of San Francisco and the Bay Area (pass Lucas Films’ Skywalker Ranch on your way there). Also visit the wind-swept coastal region of Muir Woods with its tall, typically Californian Redwood forests. |

Santa Cruz Boardwalk, Beach
A short 30-mile through a winding mountain highway to giant-wave surfer beaches on the other side, have pure fun at the beach and Board walk with its rickety wooden roller coaster, rent a boogie board and catch a wave, then dine at any of the fine restaurants in this coastal university town with tall mountains rising from the sea with views of the Pacific Ocean as far as the eye can see. Overnight suggestions for Reunions
About four hours from Silicon Valley by car, drive up to Lake Tahoe for crisp mountain air, nature hikes, a crystal blue lake with panoramic views and cute lake-front towns with great eating. In the mood for some gambling, cross the border into Nevada at South Lake Tahoe or come down the mountain to Reno with its many casinos and decent (not great) gambling options. Read More |

Monterey / Carmel
Enjoy an exhilarating and scenic trip down 17 Mile Drive through Pebble Beach’s top-class Golf Course, visit Monterey Bay Aquarium (ranked the No. 3 family attraction in the US) at Steinbeck's favorite town and walk to historic Cannery Row. Also shop and walk through upscale shops at Carmel (ex-Mayor Clint Eastwood’s hometown, if you’re lucky you may catch him at his Hogs Breath Inn … need we say more?) Read More |

Fly Las Vegas
Vegas is growing everyday with the most upscale and “unreal” hotels. Once a gambler’s paradise, Vegas has transformed itself into a first-class family entertainment center with made-to-scale and perfection miniatures of New York, the Eiffel Tower, Egypt’s Pyramids, Venice’s canals complete with gondoliers, world class gambling, high rollers, great shows and superb dining options at reasonable prices. Definitely need to book in advance and spend at least a night and two days. Read More |

Wine Country (Napa, Sonoma, Calistoga)
California wineries are world renowned and just a few hours away. Take a tour of some wineries – from the sky in a hot-air balloon (rise early, flights depart 4 AM - 6 AM), then on the ground either by foot or the Wine Train (http://www.winetrain.com). Watch grapes morph to wine through a process balancing art and science with weatherly good luck, taste great wines to the accompaniment of fresh-baked bread and locally made cheeses amidst panoramic views of landscaped, vine-covered rolling hills.
